In 2018 the Narvik War and Peace Centre produced the temporary exhibition «Under the North Star – Estonian Volunteers in the Battle of Narvik 1940», shown in the Narvik War Museum and the Estonian War Museum. The exhibition was a cooperation between Estonian War Museum – General Laidoner Museum (Eesti Sõjamuuseum – Kindral Laidoneri Muuseum), the Estonian Cultural Heritage Association and the Norwegian-Estonian friendship association in the event of the 100th year anniversary of Estonia.
The exhibition told the story of the Estonian volunteers in the battle of Narvik in May 1940 and the faith of Estonia. In the event of the opening of the exhibition in Tallinn a small conference was held and the talks are compiled in the booklet «Under the North Star – Estonian Volunteers in the Battle of Narvik 1940» (Gaute Rønnebu Peep Pillak (eds)). The printing of the booklet was made possible by a generous donation from the Eckbo foundation. The booklet can be purchased here.
